Question #1Do you offer cremation services?
Answer:Yes.  We can assist families who choose cremation.

Question #2Can someone still have a visitation and funeral if they are going to be cremated?
Answer:Yes.  Cremation is an alternative to burial, so many families choose to have a visitation and funeral service followed by cremation.

Question #3I don’t live in the Sheridan or Stanton area; can you still handle my funeral or memorial service?
Answer:Yes.  While the physical locations of our funeral homes are in Sheridan and Stanton, we can, and have handled many services in the surrounding areas.

Question #4What is the difference between a funeral service and memorial service?
Answer:A funeral service is where the deceased’s body is present at the service.  A memorial service is where the deceased’s body is not present.

Question #5Does a funeral service have to be held in the funeral home?
Answer:No.  A funeral service can take place in most any location; a church, the persons home, a favorite hunting spot, or a park are just a few examples of places a funeral service can be held.

Question #6We don’t know any ministers, can you help?
Answer:Yes.  We have good relationships with many of the local pastors and they are more than willing to help families who don’t have a regular minister.

Question #7Does a minister have to officiate at all funeral services?
Answer:No.  While most families do choose to have a minister, there are no regulations that require one.

Question #8Can I pre-arrange my funeral service in advance?
Answer:Yes.  Actually, we encourage people who are thinking about making pre-arrangements to contact us directly, so we can explain all of the options available to you.

Question #9Do you offer headstones and markers?
Answer:Yes, we have a full line of monuments, markers and headstones available.

Question #10What is needed for a veteran to receive a flag and/or a government marker?
Answer:A copy of their discharge papers, form DD-214.  We have all of the necessary forms at the funeral home and will be happy to fill everything out for you.

Question #11I need a certified copy of a death certificate, where do I go?
Answer:Death Certificates are always filed in the county where the death has occurred.  You can go to the County Clerk’s office to get more certified copies.  Each county charges a fee for certified copies and you should check with them to find out their fee.

Question #12How do I notify Social Security that my loved one has passed away?
Answer:We will do that for you using a form provided to us by the Social Security Administration.

Question #13My parents go south in the winter, what should I do if something happens to them while they are out of state?
Answer:Call us first and DO NOT call a funeral home where they are vacationing.  By calling us first, we are able to coordinate everything from here, saving you hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

Question #14If a death occurs in the middle of the night, when should I call you?
Answer:Call us anytime, day or night.  We are always available 24/7.
