Jeannette Outman, age 89 of Stanton, passed away at her home on Thursday, June 9, 2016.

She was born on February 3, 1927 the daughter of David & Edna (Holland) Woods, both of whom precede her in death. Jeannette is also preceded in death by her husband, Harlow; her 18 month old daughter, Marilyn Beardslee and three sisters.

Jeannette is survived by her three sons, Bruce (Vicky) Beardslee of Stanton, Dave Yaw of Tucson, Arizona and Grant (Chong) Outman of California; grandchildren, Suzanne Beardslee, David Beardslee, Dallas Beardslee, Suzanne (John) Krishna and three great grandchildren.

Jeannette had a love for music. She played the piano for programs at the school and for services at the First Congregational Church. In 1947 her friend, Frances Brigham, requested that she play the piano at her wedding. Following that, Jeannette played for her own entertainment until she was asked to play for the Traditional Congregational Church where she became a member and continued playing for them for the next 20 years. Jeannette loved the large garden she and her husband planted and weeded together. Together they grew beans, tomatoes, corn, potatoes and other produce and she would always be busy in the fall canning and freezing their harvest.

Visitation with Jeannette’s family will be on Monday, June 13, 2016 from 10 – 11 AM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.

Funeral services for Jeannette will begin at 11 AM on Monday at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating.

Final interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Stanton.
