Obituary for Troy Keck

Troy Keck
Troy Edwin Keck, age 38 of Carson City passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing after a very courageous fight with cancer. While Troy may have lost his battle with cancer, he was NOT defeated and passed surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born the son of Eddie & Peggy (Fockler) Keck on November 23, 1977 in Carson City and is preceded in death by his dad.

Troy was the most kind hearted, selfless and giving person that anyone had the pleasure of knowing. He not only enjoyed spending quality time with his family, but he also loved riding his Harley which he nicknamed “Mabel”. He was a plant manager at DS Mold in Belding, where everyone looked up to him and he continued to inspire those around him on a daily basis. Troy’s family would especially like to thank Doug Stearns, his employer and very close friend for all his support during this very difficult time. Troy has left a very deep hole in Doug’s heart and a void that will be hard to fill. Even at the young age of 38, Troy has touched so many hearts and he will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Troy is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Keck; his children, Alec Keck of Carson City, Alyssa Keck of Carson City, Mariah Patch of Riverdale; mother, Peggy Keck of Crystal; sister, Rachel (Mike) Jasso of Carson City; nieces Ella and Eily Jasso, both of Carson City; parents-in-law, Larry & Norma Jordan of Carson City, Larry & Linda King of Vestaburg; brother-in-law’s, Nick (Amy) Jordan of Norfolk, Virginia, Brad (Crystal) Jordan of Midland, Micky King of Vestaburg, Calvin (Dayle) Grandy Jr. of Grand Rapids; sister-in-law’s, Jessica (Joe) Francisco of Rockford, Kathy (Jonathan) King of Alma; many nieces and nephews; his close friend, Brett Shindledecker of Stanton and his dog “Bentley” and cat “Smokey” both of whom are lost without him.

Visitation with Troy’s family will be on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 5-8 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan and also on Wednesday from 9-11 AM at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Troy will be on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 beginning at 11 AM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan. Graveside services will be held at the Crystal Cemetery.

Troy’s family is asking everyone to wear their riding attire or “Team Keck” shirts to the funeral and join them as they give him one last ride around the lake on the way to the cemetery.
