Thelma L  Freeman
Thelma L. Freeman, age 81 of Sheridan passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born the daughter of Arvin & Agnus (Price) Powell in Lansing on February 10, 1935 and they along with brothers, Bobby Powell, Richard Powell and sister Arlene Hadley proceed her in death.

Thelma is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bobby Freeman; daughters, Deb (Randy) Ripley of Sheridan, Cyndi (Richard) Patchett of Parma; son Ron (Candy) Freeman of Wolverine; grandchildren, Kristy Patchett of Jackson, Scott (Tabitha) Ripley of Stanton, Matt (Jamie) Ripley of Vestaburg, Cheri Ripley of Sheridan, Little Ron (Alex) Freeman of Wolverine, Robert (Jamie) Freeman of Wolverine, Kim (Nick) Freeman of Wolverine, Kenneth Freeman of Wolverine, Mazie Freeman of Wolverine; sister Carolann (Bob) Hack of Charlotte; brother, James Powell of Houghton Lake; fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Thelma loved to hunt and fish, especially fishing the Sturgeon River and deer hunting in the U.P. If it could be done outdoors, Thelma was all about that and never one lacking for adventure, she even enjoyed dune buggy and snowmobile riding. She loved her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Thelma’s family would also like to extend a big thank you to Cathy Nichols and the wonderful and caring staff at the Sparrow Carson Infusion Center in Carson City for everything they did for her.

A celebration of Thelma’s life will be held at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM and you’re free to come and go as your schedule permits.

For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Thelma’s memory the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
