Linda Sue Fancett, age 66 of Belding passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids.

She was born the daughter of Owen & Vernie (Laningham) Gilbert in Portland, Michigan on September 3, 1949 and they along with three brothers, Jack Gilbert, Wendell Gilbert, Robert Gilbert; father-in-law, Kenneth Fancett and brother-in-law, Fred Murray have preceded her in death.

Linda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Gary; son, Jonathan (Angela) Fancett of Rockford; daughter, Chastity (Troy) Barnes of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Courtney Valentine of Howard City, Zach Rodriguez of Lakeview, Emily Rodriguez of Greenville, Ashlee Sweetland of Rockford, Molly Sweetland of Rockford; great grandchildren, Ava Valentine and Hudson White; sister, Mary Dexter of Charlotte; brothers, Owen (Vicki) Gilbert of Belding, Jim (Roberta) Gilbert of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Gerald (Judy) Gilbert of Sunfield, Doug (Julie) Gilbert of Lansing; mother-in-law, Arlene Fancett of Orleans; sisters-in-law, Linda Murray of Lansing, Eloise Gilbert of Portland; brother-in-law, Mike (Sabrina) Fancett of DeWitt and many nieces and nephews.

In her younger days Linda loved to go camping, ride her motorcycles, tend to her vegetable garden and go fishing. She was a loving wife, a great mother, a wonderful grandmother and took excellent care of her entire family.

Linda’s family will be celebrating her life on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan and they invite you to join them as your schedule permits. A short prayer service will be held during the celebration at 6 PM.

For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Linda’s memory the family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
