Donna J. Slock, age 89 of Greenville formally of Stanton, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids.

She was born the daughter of Hugh & Gertrude (Fontaine) Griffis on April 23, 1927 and they along with her husband of 44 years Leo have preceded her in death.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Pam (Ken) Skiver of Greenville, Debbie Tomes of Greenville; sons, Dennis (Vera) Griffis of Roscommon, Bob (Beverly) Slock of Greenville; 10 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Morrison of Fremont, Darlene Petersen of Rockford, Carolyn Coles of Belding and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was a member of the Stanton First Congregational Church, the Sheridan VFW Post 5065 Ladies Auxiliary, the Red Hat Ladies of Greenville, she was a charter member of the American Legion Post 452 Ladies Auxiliary and worked at Leppink’s Grocery Store for 25 years.

Visitation with Donna’s family will be on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 11 AM until noon at the Stanton First Congregational Church (305 N. Camburn Street). Funeral services for Donna will also be at the church on Wednesday beginning at noon with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating.

Final interment will be next to her husband at Forest Hill Cemetery in Stanton.

For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Donna’s memory the family suggests donations be made to the Stanton First Congregational Church and envelopes will be available at the church.
