Gerald W. Richmond, age 78 of Sheridan passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2015 at his home under the loving care of his family and Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
He was born the son of Raymond & Leone (Sawyer) Richmond in Greenville on December 22, 1937 and they along with a grandson, Kyle Richmond have preceded him in death.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Richmond; three daughters, Dawn (Santos) Rocha of Stanton, Tammy (Larry) Bell of Sheridan, Penny (Kurt) Musser of Fenwick; two sons, Jerald (Kathy Schnepp) Richmond of Stanton, Billy Richmond of Sheridan; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Gerald proudly served our country in the Army from 1956-1958 and after that he worked building refrigerators for 40 years. Gerald loved going fishing and baseball, but most of all he loved wrestling with his kids and playing games with his kids and grandkids. Gerald will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation with Gerald’s family is being held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.
Funeral services for Gerald are being held on Friday, October 28, 2016 beginning at 10 AM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Chris McNeilly officiating. Gerald will be laid to rest in Sheridan Cemetery.
