Aiyana Kaliska Betham, age 55 of Howard City passed away unexpectedly in Greenville United Memorial Hospital on Thursday, November 3, 2016.

She was born the daughter of Robert & Edith (Hoppe) Boughner in Pontiac and was preceded in death by her mother six months after her birth. In addition to her birth mother, Aiyana is also preceded in death by her father, step-mother, Vivan; sister, Wee; two infant sisters, Linda & Kathleen Boughner; two grandchildren and Mkwa her service dog and companion.

Aiyana is survived by her husband, Roy; daughters, Vivan (Al) Ridgeway of Sheridan, Leora (Daniel) Bain of Big Rapids, Rebecca Betham of Gowen; son, Hunter Dane Betham of Howard City; sisters, Cheryl (Craig) McCaul of Kalamazoo, Nancy (Ed) Griffin of Muskegon, Tina (Jay) Collins of California; brother, Luke Jacko of Ionia; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild, one soon-to-be-born great grandchild; half-brother, Robert Moore of Oxford and a half-sister, Sandra (Richard) Svoboda of Chardon, Ohio.

Aiyana was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Big Rapids, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, crafting and singing. She was especially fond of cooking and wasn’t happy until you were full on her food.

Visitation with Aiyana’s family is being held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 4-7 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.

Funeral services for Aiyana will be at 11 AM on Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Immanuel Roth officiating. Graveside services will be held at Sidney Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
