Nita Mae Gervin, age 78 of Fenwick, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 17, 2016.

She was born the daughter of George & Fannie (Hendrix) Thompson in Pembroke, Kentucky on February 5, 1938 and they along with her brother, Robert Thompson and sister, Ramona “Joan” Crady have proceeded her in death.

Nita is survived by her husband of 54 years, Al Gervin; daughters, Lisa (Michael) Stachowicz of White House, Tennessee, Melody (Mark) Gorno of Trenton, Cindy (Scott) Disbrow of Leslie, Candy (Ed) Schaffer of DeWitt, Debra (Chuck) Rose of Belmont; son, Mark (Nina Whaley) Gervin of Lyons; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Nita was a member of the Nashville Baptist Church and the Ft. Ogden Baptist Church in Florida. Nita loved attending and participating in various Bible Study groups. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Belding Garden Club.

Visitation with Nita’s family is being held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.

Funeral services for Nita will be on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Ashley Baptist Church in Belding (10463 Belding Road, Belding) beginning at 11 AM with Pastor Dr. David Oliver officiating. Final interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery.

For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Nita’s memory the family suggests they be made to the Ashley Baptist Church and envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
