Jack Donald Clark, age 88, of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Clark Retirement Community.

He was born the son of Ralph & Iva (Sessions) Clark in Flint, Michigan and they along with one son, Michael Jack Clark have preceded him in death.

Jack is survived by his wife of 66 years, Faith Louise Clark; their daughter, Faith (Jay) DeVries of Belmont; sons, Charles Clark of Stockbridge, Mark Clark of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Lindsey (Nathan) Ohle of Falls Church, Virginia, Jake DeVries of Grand Rapids, Tiffany DeVries of Chicago, Illinois; great grandchildren, Sophia and Landon Ohle; brother, David Clark of Florida and his special fishing buddy, Terry Velding of Wyoming, Michigan.

After Jack graduated from General Motors Institute he worked as the Service Manager for Neil Conover Chevrolet in Lapeer. Jack left that position to serve his country where he was a Staff Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean War and after his discharge, he worked as a Millwright in the mines in Ishpeming. For the final 28 years of his career, Jack worked at Thorn Apple Valley Inc., where he retired as the Director of Corporate Engineering. When he wasn’t working, Jack liked to go fishing and play pool. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation with Jack’s family is being held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 11:00 to 11:30 AM at the Clark Retirement Community (1551 Franklin Street, Grand Rapids, MI). Funeral services for Jack will begin at 11:30 AM with Pastor Mary Loring officiating. Final interment will be at Blythefield Memorial Gardens in Belmont.

For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Jack’s memory the family suggests donations be made to Emanuel Hospice and envelopes will be available at the visitation and funeral.
