Obituary for Carl Matthew Healy

Carl Matthew Healy
Carl “Matt” Healy, age 45 of Fenwick, passed away peacefully at home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Hospice.

Matt was an avid fisherman. He loved being on the water, especially the Great Lakes. He always had a need for speed and loved to go fast, only recently learning to slow down, just a little bit. He enjoyed tinkering and fabricating in the garage. He always seemed to have several projects going on and even left a few for his friends and family to finish for him. Matt was a jokester who loved to laugh and have a good time. His sense of humor and smile would light up any room he entered. Matt will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Matt is survived by his parents, Carl & Marelyn Healy of St. Charles; his wife, Christy; daughters, Megan Healy (Jason Playter Jr.) of Saranac, Emily Healy of Fenwick; grandchildren, Hunter and Jordan Healy of Fenwick, Gracie Playter of Saranac; sisters, Michelle (Randy) Goss of Pleasant View, Tennessee, Aimee (Andy) Glazier of St. Charles; brother, Greg Healy of Fairgrove; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Patrick & Debbie Draper of Sheridan; brother-in-law’s and sister-in-law’s, Wayne & Felicia Draper of Fenwick, Bill & Ane Draper of Carson City; nieces and nephews, Brandon & Jessica Goss, Allyson, Aidan and Alex Glazier, Dustin Howell, Kaytlynn & Karlee Draper, Ryan & Rachel Draper; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Matt is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence & Estell Healy and Clarence & Alice Bohinski; uncles, Bill Healy and Jim Bohinski.

Visitation with Matt’s family will be on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 3-8 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.

Funeral services for Matt will begin at 11 AM on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM at the Ferris Center Cemetery in Vestaburg.

For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Matt’s memory the family suggest donations be directed to the Greenville Optimist Camp which helps those with special needs enjoy a camping experience. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
