Jim A. Tutor, age 75 of Stanton, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Spectrum Health Blodgett in Grand Rapids.

He was born the son of Archie & Doris (Marsh) Tutor on April 18, 1942 and they along with a grandson precede him in death.

Jim is survived by his wife, Donna; daughters, Kristi (M.J.) Jawo of Farmington Hills, Jami (Dustin) Harris of Miner, Illinois; granddaughters, Iasha Jawo, Piper Harris, Izabel Harris; grandson, Samba Jawo; brothers, Archie (Teri) Tutor of Crossville, Tennessee, Brian (Cindy) Tutor of St. Clair Shores; sisters Jean Cleveland of Canton, Linda Schaffer of California; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rick & Diane Kimball of Sidney, Dave & Chris Gardner of Stanton, Ann Laing of Stanton and Robert & Gail Kimball of DeWitt.

Jim was a life member of the Lansing VFW Post 6132 and proudly served our country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver for 33 years and absolutely loved being able to see various parts of our country. While Jim may have appeared rough on the outside, those who knew him understood he had a heart of gold and a soft spot for animals, especially cats. Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services for Jim will be on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 beginning at 11 AM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with visitation being held one hour prior from 10 to 11 AM. Final interment will be at the Wacousta Cemetery in Wacousta.

For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Jim’s memory the family suggests donations be directed to the Sheridan VFW and envelopes will be available at the funeral home on Tuesday.
