Charlene Ann Foster, age 79 of Grand Ledge, entered eternal rest and into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus on September 15, 2017.
She was born the daughter of Thomas & Mary (Blumberg) Thomsen on March 20, 1938 in Sidney and they along with her infant daughter, Pamela Foster and sisters, Betty Lou Nelson, Marilyn Jorgensen and Aleta Mae Martin precede her in death.
Charlene is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jim; daughters, Teresa (Peter) Scodeller of Beverly Hills, Michigan, Tammie (Jim) Barker of Tonganoxie, Kansas; son, Tim Foster of Hudsonville, Michigan; grandchildren, Jason Foster of Gilbert, Arizona, Michael Foster of Chandler, Arizona, Courtney (Michael Cook) Barker of Franklin, Indiana, Sydney (Nathan) Donnellon of Novi, Michigan, Nicholas Scodeller of Beverly Hills, Michigan, Tyler Drent of Grand Haven, Brandon Drent of Grand Haven, Jared Drent of Grand Haven; great grandchildren, Rosalie Donnellon and Baby Donnellon who is due in November and brother-in-law, Tom Jorgensen of Stanton.
Charlene was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Grand Ledge for 50 years and a retired school bus driver for the Grand Ledge Public School system where she worked for 20 years. Charlene also loved to bowl and competed in bowling tournaments across the county. While she loved bowling and other activities throughout her life, Charlene’s biggest passion and love of her life was her family and she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Visitation with Charlene’s family will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 6-8 PM at the Good Shepard Lutheran Church (7000 W. Saginaw Hwy., Lansing, MI).
Funeral services for Charlene will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan beginning at 11 AM with Reverend Roger Straub officiating. Final interment will be at the Sidney Cemetery.
