Obituary for Richard "Dick" Johnson

Richard “Dick” Johnson, 81, of Luzerne passed away peacefully Sunday, December 3rd, 2017. Dick was born November 12, 1936 to Earl and Martha (Dabala) Johnson in Toledo, Ohio. Dick was in the milk business his entire career, working for Miller Road, Twin Pines, and London Dairies. Dick retired to his cottage on the AuSable river in Luzerne. Dick loved talking and getting to know people, it seemed he knew everyone. Known as Grandpa Dick to many, he loved hosting tubing trips down the river with friends, neighb ors, and family alike. Dick also loved his dogs, playing Euchre, storytelling, and hunting.

Dick is survived by his sons Tom (Jennifer) Yats of Flint, Rich (Heather) Johnson of Sheridan and step children Nancy (Paul) Gilbert of Prescott, Peggy Yats of Flushing, David (Patty) Yats of Gaines Twp, Sue Levely of Flint, grandchildren Mike, Bill, Nick, John, Ann, Sarah, Etta, Sophia and Corbin, and many great grandchildren.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bob, Larry, and Donny, and step son Alvin.

A celebration of Dick’s life will be held Friday December 8, 2017 from 3-7 PM at the Sharp Funeral Home (8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, MI) and you are free to come and go as your schedule allows.
