Obituary for William "Bill" Carr Sr.

William “Bill” Carr, Sr. age 70 of Fenwick, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Violetta Histed; two sisters, Eva Carr and Harriet Kruger and one brother, Ernie Carr.

Surviving Bill is wife, Connie; daughters, Linda (Fernando) Olvera of Atlanta, Georgia, Tonya Carr of Fenwick; son, William Carr, Jr. of Michigan; step-daughters, Carla Grizwald of Muskegon, Pennie (Matt) Wallace of Stanton; sister, Connie (Paul) Cook of Marquette; brother, John (Debbie) Freeborn of Longmont, Colorado; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, several family members in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and friend, Daryl Way of Stanton.

Bill proudly served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Stanton American Legion. He also loved to be outdoors, no matter if it was hunting, fishing, or golfing if he was outside he was happy. Bill also coached football and baseball and was a big MSU fan where he played football when he was in college. When Bill wasn’t outside he enjoyed reading and watching T.V.

A celebration of Bill’s life is being held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 1 to 3 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan and you’re free to come and go as your schedule allows.

For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Bill’s memory the family suggests you make them to Hope Lodge at St. Mary’s Hospital and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
