Brownie Thayer, age 92 of Fenwick passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Laurels of Carson City.

She was born the daughter of Chester & Zella (Fish) Peterman and they along with her first husband, Milton Alexander; son, John Alexander; second husband, Fred Thayer; three brothers and two sisters precede her in death.

Brownie is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Duffy) Klingensmith of Fenwick; Sandy (Joe) Willmore of Sheridan; step daughters, Patti (Junior) Searles of Sheridan; Diane Alexander; sisters-in-law, Marion Alexander of Sidney; Opal Thayer of Sheridan; brother, Mike Peterman of Greenville; grandchildren, Tanya Willmore of Sheridan; Jason (Vicki) Willmore of Sidney; Adam (Michelle) Willmore of Sidney; Milton (Betsy) Klingensmith of Fenwick; Marvid (Rich) Schneider of Fenwick; Jeremy (Jodi) Alexander of Wasilla, Alaska; Carrie (Helge) Johnson of Ionia; Kit (Toni) Searles of Sheridan; Roger (Kathy) Searls of Boulder, Montana; Dawn (Russell) Hammond of Grand Ledge; Dawn Southward of Sheridan; Todd (Leilani) Alexander of Vestaburg; Mark (Ann) Alexander of Anderson, South Carolina; Fred (Sandy) Alexander of Greenville; great-grandchildren, Tavin; Emileigh; Japheth; Madison; Aaron; Hannah; Kaitlyn; Markey; Alexandra; Jack; Will; Johnny; several step great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren, Kinsley and Lily.

Brownie was born, raised, and lived her entire life in Montcalm County, which is something she was very proud of. For many years, she was very active at the Sheridan VFW and the Auxiliary. She worked for several years at the Ore Ida plant in Greenville and loved being around people. Brownie never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. She loved being home and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

In honoring Brownie’s wishes no formal ceremony is being held, and she will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
