Obituary for Frank Tuttle

Frank Tuttle, age 81 of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids.

Never short on words, Frank would light up any room he entered or brighten up your day with his endless jokes and stories. His laugh was contagious, his smile infectious and his love of life very apparent.

Frank loved his family very much and is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley; son, Steve (Essie) Tuttle of San Francisco, California; grandson, Dave (Tiffany) Bingaman of Sheridan; great grandchildren, Tara Williams, Austin Williams, Lauren Williams and great great granddaughter, Liberty Winters.

Preceding Frank in death are his parents, Donald & Esther (Coulson) Tuttle; daughter, Judy Bingaman and grandson, Travis Bingaman.

Born in Ionia, Frank never ventured too far from home. He worked as a Corrections Officer in both Ionia and Carson City, he also owned and operated Tuttle Sports Shop with Shirley for nearly 30 years. When he wasn’t working, Frank loved to research history through family genealogy and shop for antiques. He was affectionately referred to as an antique hound by his family and was always determined to bargain his way to the best possible deal. He was also a regular at the local coffee shops and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Franks family would like to extend special thanks to Rory and Renae Osmolinski and Tennille Sassano for everything they have done for him and care they provided.

Visitation with Frank’s family will be on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 1-3 PM and 5-8 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.

Funeral services for Frank will be on Monday, March 5, 2018 beginning at 11 AM at the Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Graveside services will be at Tuttle Cemetery in Ionia.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking donations be made to the Travis Bingaman Memorial Scholarship fund and envelopes will be available at both the funeral home and church.
