Obituary for Rebecca "Becky" Ziny

Rebecca "Becky" Ziny
Rebecca Louise Ziny, age 68 of Stanton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

Becky was born the daughter of Aaron & Marjorie (Mathews) Larson on April 23, 1949 in Grand Rapids. Proceeding her in death are her parents; son, Joseph Quincy Sherwood; mother-in-law, Catherine Sherwood; bother-in-law, Tim Sherwood and three dogs, Toby; Hanna and Teddy.

Becky is survived by her husband of 28 years, David Ziny; daughters, Barbara (Marvin) Lopez of Sacramento, California; Roberta (Jim) Clark of Washington, Illinois; son, Benjamin (Kathalene) Sherwood of Stanton; grandchildren; Payton, Zoe, Jacob, Aaron Lopez of Sacramento, California; Mason, Alex, Maxwell, Rose Clark of Washington, Illinois; Daniel and Myrna Sherwood of Stanton; sister, Deborah (David) Sugiyama of Grand Rapids; Chris (Irene) Larson of Muskegon; brother-in-law, Tom Sherwood of Grand Rapids and her dog, Baby.

Becky was a devout Christian who loved reading her Bible and learning more about God. She was also a life long political junkie who loved watching C-SPAN and really misses “her President”, President Obama. While she enjoyed watching scary movies, she hated TV commercials and would usually watch them OnDemand. She dreamed of redecorating her house and had many plans drawn up both on paper and in her head. She also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, but most of all, Becky loved her family and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

A celebration of Becky’s life is being planned for a later date.
