George M. Peet (71) of Boyne City, died Wednesday June 19, 2019. George Passed away peacefully at home after facing a few tough years of serious health problems including kidney failure and lymphoma. George began his career at Peet Packing Company in Chesaning Michigan and worked as a sales executive in the food industry for the majority of his life. He absolutely loved skiing and sailing as well as coaching and teaching both in the northern Michigan community. Apart from the activities themselves, George’s favorite past-time was meeting new people and trying to figure if he already somehow knew them or could possibly make some type of connection to them. He always talked to everyone and seemed to know someone everywhere he went!

Surviving George is his wife, Kathy (Barnwell) Peet; sons, George H. Peet of Harbor Springs; Harley Peet (Spencer Carroll) of Easton, Maryland; stepchildren, Kate (Tony) Sanders of Stanton; Shelly (Denny) Brya of Petoskey; Sarah Ries (Vance Reusch) of Petoskey; Brooke (Aaron) Snacker of Petoskey; sisters, Barbara (Tom) Maier of Pittsboro, North Carolina; Cyndy (Mark) Hunt of Atlantis, Florida; step-grandchildren, Keisha Thomas of Belmont; Drew Sanders of Belmont; Morgan Sanders of Stanton; Ava Petersen of Petoskey; Lily Brya of Petoskey; Hayden Brya of Petoskey; Reese Snacker of Petoskey; step great granddaughter, Harper Thomas of Belmont and many great friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Millis & Betty (Haller) Peet; nephew, Spencer Hunt and stepdaughter, Tracy Ries.

A celebration of George’s life is being held on Saturday, June 22nd from 2-4 PM at the Peninsula Beach Park in Boyne City (310 Front Street).
