Obituary for Vayda-Kay Vasquez

Vayda-Kay Vasquez, age 1, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 2, 2020 in Douglass Township.

Vayda was the child who could light up a room just by being in there. Her smile was only matched in size by that of her bubbly personality. Just a few months short of her second birthday, Vayda had already made a big impact in her family’s life. Everyday when her Grandpa Jones would get home from work, Vayda was ready to have her afternoon snack with him. When she would visit her Grandpa Darrell’s house she would get on his lap, take his pen, and help him do the crossword puzzles. Vayda loved the song “Baby Shark”, she slept with her stuffed Minnie Mouse every night, and would twirl her hair to help put herself to sleep. She also had a bit of a sweet tooth and loved snack time, and if Vayda gave you a hug there was always a pat on the back to go with it.

Vayda is survived by her mom, Dani Maybee of Stanton; dad, Chris Sanchez, soon to be step-mom Hanna Graves of Greenville, soon to be step-siblings Liam Graves & Jazzlynne Clifford; grandma Tonia Rose & Carnell Jones of Stanton; grandma Shawnrie Russell of Grand Rapids; grandpa Todd Maybee of Lyons; grandpa Keith Rose of Cadillac; and Rudelfo Vasquez; great grandparents, Dorene & Darrell Way of Stanton; Duane Kosmowski of Coleman; Andrzej & Luann Plonski of Indiana; David Nunn; Pedro Guerrero; aunts, Layci Jones, Mariana Sanchez, Bella Calixto and uncles Gavin Plonski and Sergio Luna II; and several other uncles; great aunts, Tracie Irwin, Tiffany Fulk, Tina Irwin, Erica Pena, Erin Writter; her cousins, Justin Edgar, Jordan Edgar, Andrew Irwin, Maddie Irwin, Mason Irwin, Preston Kosmowski, Laney Fulk, Logan Fulk, Leah Fulk, Lilly Fulk, many more cousins and her Godmother, Kerstyn Knight of Stanton.

Vayda was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Walter & Carolyn, Cynthia Kay Nunn, and great uncle David Plonski.

Visitation is being held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar Street) from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.
