I have such fond memories of my Aunt Florence. I never knew the origin of this, but as a child, I referred to her as my "Aunt Tootsie" and that name has stuck with me through adulthood. I loved the way she wore scarfs around her neck to match her outfit colors. There was something very organized and peaceful about her that always attracted my spirit. Especially, her collection of elder family member pictures that she safeguarded and shared with my family at just the right time in our adult life. She had that "quick wit" that seem to come out of no where, very similar to her brother, Leo (my father).
With each meeting, I was struck by how much she looked like her mother (my grandmother Thelma Morrison). The most striking resemblance was the beautiful white hair that adorned her head. Jerry, my brother appears to carry that same 'white hair' gene.
I recall getting birthday cards from her when I was young. Birthdays were not a big celebration in my home, so receiving this birthday card each year reminded me of her thoughtfulness. I thank Shirley Morrison, my cousin for continuing this tradition. It humbles me and bonds me to the Morrison Clan.
Aunt Tootsie will always have a special place in my heart. She was a 'giver' and provided the younger generation a beautiful role model to follow.
May she rest in peace and know she was greatly Loved.
Bree (Boopy) Morrison
